Hi all, up in Brisbane- Meanjin we’ve been busy with lots of production and street painting! Our arts group were reflecting on progress this week and wanted to touch base nationally to see if there are any plans in the works for next phase/escalation?
It looks as though there will be a nationally coordinated series of local actions in Australia around September
1 when XR UK are blockading their parliament. The theme is “we want to live” and the messaging is around four degrees of warming causing billions of deaths.
It would be good to have some coordinated paint the streets action in the lead up to that. More details coming soon. @ManicMax do you have any details?

I think I’d be interesting to have PTS murals/posters that invite the public to interact. Am thinking along the lines of the #DickWings pieces that Scott Marsh has put together. The work has zero instruction yet people stand between the wings, snap a photo and share it on socials tagged with #DickWings.
Possible ideas:
- Holding up the earth
- Extinction or Rebellion? (with human outline under each choice)

A great billboard action
Santos has been running these ads on the homepage of the NT News (it’s election time in the NT). Good material for culture jamming with stickers, meme generators, fake billboards, etc.

That’s a bit repulsive those ads… what a silly world where people can believe - or be paid to believe , or tricked through advertising or money to believe that Australian Gas is good gas
